Make Your Dream Your Reality

A sneak peek inside my PR internship with Fashion School Daily at Academy of Art University.

Hello everyone!

Only nine more days until my cousin Stacy and I are headed to NYFW where I am excited to be reporting on the fall 2015 beauty trends at the Academy of Art University runway show. It’s been a long hard road to get to this point and I am thrilled that this is my final semester in the MA Fashion Journalism program at  Academy of Art University. This semester will be very inspirational and I am grateful for the opportunity I was given to work the PR internship at Fashion School Daily this semester. Everything is moving in fast pace and the anticipation grows strong from the thrill of knowing that soon I will be headed to the east coast to report on beauty/hair trends backstage from the NYFW show. For a sneak peek here is the Academy of Art University Spring/summer 2015 show YouTube video. My coverage for Fashion School Daily will also include the 2015 graduation show. I am looking forward to building new professional relationships and gaining the necessary field experience to set me apart from the competition when I graduate.

This is going to be a fantastic opportunity for myself and Stacy (Boston Based Photographer) to interview different team members i.e., make-up artist & Hairstylist.  I am looking forward to seeing what trends will be prominent and finding out the inspiration behind the looks, while capturing engaging visual moments behind the scenes.

I am looking forward to collaborating with the incredibly talented photographer Stacy Murphy. She owns StacyMurphyPhotography and although her main focus is on newborns…Stacy shares an addiction with me to the ferociously fast pace fashion industry. During fashion week we will capture the mood in the air, the trends on the streets and backstage access then share our discoveries.

During a recent visit back to my hometown of Boston, Stacy and I got together as fate would have it to shoot some images for my blog, one thing lead to another and the next thing I know I was able to obtain a press pass for her to attend the Academy of Art University Fall 2015 Runway Show at Mercedes-Benzes Fashion week.
Meet Stacy here and take a peek inside her Studio!   I love her thick Boston accent too! The images she shot for my blog are breathtaking! She has a true eye for posing and lighting. She is a rare gem in the photography industry. Stacy’s gallery includes images from recent photo shoots and are posted on her Facebook Page. Below is one of my favorite images from my recent photo shoot with Stacy. I thanked her darling daughter Sailor for letting me borrow her hat for the shoot…It was the perfect accessory! The story of “The Money Shot”…..the one that cost Stacy her $60,000 van is a one to follow. Stacy and I are cousins as I mentioned earlier….only something like this would happen to one of us Walsh girls!

These Collaborations & projects are excellent new ways for me to grow my portfolio and keep updating it with new pieces. To earn some $$$ to promote and build my brand, I started selling my designer pieces on POSHMARK which is also a wonderful platform to interact with readers and other bloggers who like my style. For backstage access, street style and beauty trends follow me along at 1Trendii Blog as I add posts and video’s keeping you updated about my training and adventures interning in PR with the Academy of Art University.

I would love to hear from all of you so please feel free to post comments or ask questions about anything you would like to see us capture from NYFW. Thanks!
